This listing is for an oracle deck filled with photographs I took of an area of Sedona Arizona paired with quotations from Buddha taken from the Dhammapada. This is not a religious deck and you don't need to be familiar with Buddha or the teachings of Buddha. You will gain insight into your life when you draw a card and read the message on it.

Life is all about balance.

I have paired photos of rock cairns with quotes from Buddha that will make you think about your life and your balance.

Draw one card each day and contemplate what that card means to you.

Deck includes:
54 Poker Lenormand Sized cards - 2.5" x 3.5"
52 cards are the photos with quotes, 2 cards are the information cards
Plastic box

The quotes on the cards are to stimulate *your* intuition. You will be sent a link to download a PDF that includes all the quotes. You will hear and see what you need at the time you draw a card.

Rock cairns populate the area known as Buddha Beach at the Cathedral Rock Vortex along Oak Creek in Sedona. There are literally hundreds of tiny hand crafted rock piles, made from rocks and stones along the shore.

Cairn is a term used mainly in the English-speaking world for a man-made pile of stones. It comes from the Irish: carn (plural cairn) or Scottish Gaelic: càrn (plural càirn). Cairns are found all over the world in uplands, on moorland, on mountaintops, near waterways and on sea cliffs, and also in barren desert and tundra areas. (Wikipedia)

Buddha Beach actually is part of Oak Creek where the creek widens and in warm weather people go wading and even swimming. People actually also cross the creek to get to the trails on the other side. We did not cross as it was 45 -50 degrees the day we were there and we didn’t want to slip and be frozen.

As we were walking through the area I overheard a woman telling a group of people that the rock cairns are started by one person, then other people will add to them. As you will see on the cards, the rocks are placed in unusual places and some you don't believe should be where they are. It is also fun to see all the unusual shapes and piles and realize that this isn't a permanent structure, but is a living garden of rocks. Each person that adds to it or moves something around is a part of it.

As I was photographing the tiny (and not so tiny) rock structures I knew they had to be paired with quotes and sayings from Buddha. I was amazed by their balance.

All the sayings on the cards are attributed to Buddha and were taken directly from the Dhammapada.

Buddha quotes need to be read slowly for the meaning to come to you. Many are open to interpretation, which means you will read the meaning you need to see and hear. Each photo has its own message; you might have to look hard to find it.

I’m very happy that we went in the winter because we were able to see and experience things that would be hidden by leaves in the spring and summer.
